Control of Dogs/Horses

Dogs must be kept under control at all times, in order to ensure that wandering dogs do not become a menace to people or livestock. The Council's dog warden is regularly patrolling the county and will seize stray dogs. If your dog is one of the specified breeds under the Control of Dogs Act, it must be kept muzzled at all times when in public. For more information on specified breeds, contact the Dog Warden or the County Veterinary Inspector on 067 44786

Dog Licences

If you have a dog you must have a Dog Licence which costs €12.70 and is available at any post office. It must be renewed annually. If you don't have valid licence, you can be fined €127 by the dog warden
