Litter fines are one of a programme of measures aimed at reducing the level of littering and illegal tipping in the County. Increased litter penalties and other changes to litter legislation will discourage the irresponsible behaviour that causes litter. Increased public awareness of the environmental damage caused by litter pollution will also help to reduce the level of indiscriminate dumping.
