The above programme has been devolved to each local authority since 1997. Work on the compilation of a comprehensive inventory on all water supply schemes and waste water schemes within the county is being completed at present. The data collected and compiled will help in the completion of the Strategic Rural Water Plan. Central to the Plan is the issue of water quality. The comprehensive water quality monitoring programme of all public schemes and privately sourced Group Water Schemes, supplying 10 houses or more is ongoing. Results to date suggest that the water quality on Group Schemes has improved significantly, with a compliance rate of 98.4% in 2010
